Rangers hold off Black Knight attack

Steady offensive play by the Unaka Rangers proved to be the sustaining point that carried the Rangers to a 73-66 over Chuckey Doak inside Snavely Gym on Monday night.

Unaka broke out front in the opening half, 38-26, behind the play of Gavin Seigfried and Landon Ramsey as Seigfried totaled 12 points in the first quarter and Ramsey scored eight of his 11 points in the second period to give Unaka the halftime edge.

Joe-Z Blamo also chipped in with seven points to build the 12-point lead.

The Rangers continued to provide steady offense in the second 16 minutes of play scoring 16 in the third and 19 in the final quarter of play to stay in front of the hard-charging Black Knights.

Seigfried and Ramsey finished the night with 17 points apiece to pace the Rangers while Blamo was close behind with 16 points.

Chuckey Doak was led on the night by Cadin Tullock who tallied a game-high 19 points. Hayden Anderson chipped in with 13 points and Christian Derry netted 11.
