The offices of the City of Elizabethton will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, for the New Year’s holiday.
Due to the closing, the holiday schedule for the city has been altered. The garbage collection for the week is as follows: Monday through Thursday will be on schedule with Thursday and Friday being collected on Friday.
Because the holiday falls on Saturday, the Elizabethton STAR will be printed on Thursday night and delivered by mail on Friday.
Also, the Carter County Courthouse will be closed on Friday.
