Jerry L. Jones, 69, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., passed away at his residence after a short battle with cancer on Friday, December 24, 2021. Jerry was born in Banner Elk, N.C., to the late Jerd and Nella Hill Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Hall Jones.
Jerry was a plain ole’ country boy that loved his family and friends and keeping his yard beautifully landscaped. He was of the Christian faith.
Those left to remember his memory include his daughters, Sarina (Charlie) Potter and Rachael Hall (Jerry) Oakes, all of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Brittany Potter, Marissa Hall and Cody Dale Potter; two brothers, Kenny (Lora) Jones of Roan Mountain and Allen Jones of Hampton; and a nephew, Jason Jones. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
It was Jerry’s wishes to be cremated and no services are currently scheduled.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in Jerry’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
