The snow earlier this week provided a Christmas card effect for St. Thomas Episcopal Church located in old town next to the Carter County Courthouse. The church was still decorated with Christmas wreaths with a nativity scene out front when the first snow of the winter season fell early Monday morning providing a cloak of white for the trees and shrubs in the church lawn. The church at its earliest was known as the Southern Methodist Church and dates back to the post Civil War era.
