Abortion one of leading causes of death worldwide

To the Editor:
Since the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was against violence he would speak out against the greatest violence of our time, abortion. According to www.christianheadlines.com, “Abortion is the leading cause of death for 2021 worldwide for the second year in a row.” They also report abortion has been the leading cause of death in the U.S. in years past. Now pro-abortion California refuses to report their number of abortions.
Since Dr. King was a Baptist pastor he would be pro-life as the Bible says, “choose life,” in Deuteronomy 30. Millions of unborn children might be alive today if Dr. King was speaking out against abortion like his niece, Alveda King. With his murder over 50 years ago America lost some of its conscience or soul. Dr. King wouldn’t agree that how someone treats blacks or unborn babies should be that person’s choice. Dr. King wouldn’t be so focused on a few black criminals killed by police but the over 15 million innocent black babies killed by the abortion choice of their mothers often because the father refused to take responsibility or threatened to kill the mother if she didn’t abort. Dr. King would say he agreed with his niece, Alveda King, who wrote, “How can the dream survive if we murder the children?” Nothing is more ungodly and makes God angrier than violence and abuse of babies and children. It wouldn’t surprise me if God brought great judgment on evil pro-abortion states like California and New York who have abortion legal all nine months.
There’s some who are optimistic that the U.S. Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade this year. On May 17 the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a lawsuit surrounding a Mississippi law that bans most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The state law enacted in 2018 forbids a woman from receiving an abortion after 15 weeks of gestation unless there’s a medical emergency or a fetal abnormality. After the law was passed the abortion clinic sued the state and won in federal district court. The state appealed the decision and lost. This allowed Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch to bring the case before the U.S. Supreme Court to evaluate the constitutionality of abortion on demand.
If the court decides to uphold the law rejecting the 1973 definition of viability, Roe v. Wade could be overturned. On December 1, 2021 the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments for the case. Experts suggested the oral arguments came out heavily on the side of the pro-life agenda. For the law to be upheld five of the nine U.S. Supreme Court Justices have to vote in favor of it. No decision has been issued on the case. If the court overturns Roe v. Wade, abortion will become a state only issue. In most states abortion will continue to be legal. The good news is 21 states will ban abortion through new and existing state laws if Roe v. Wade is overturned in 2022.
Many don’t know that today the number one killer of pregnant women is homicide. Abortion has devalued life so much that many men murder their pregnant girlfriend. The Bible way of marriage before sex would lower abortions and murder of pregnant women. The Bible says “choose life” so Christians support the adoption option. I thank the Elizabethton Star for being for life and printing my letters against abortion for 25 years. I thank Christians like Angie Odom, who show compassion to women in unplanned pregnancies, while telling the truth that Jesus loves them and died for them and their life has meaning and value and so does their unborn child’s life. To learn how to become a Christian call 1-888-need him. For post-abortion counseling call 1-877-hope-4-me. Unborn lives matter. See www.abolishhumanabortion.com or www.theunchoice.com. Over 60 million (60,000,000) American babies aborted over the last 49 years. Abortion is still unnecessary, unhealthy, unsafe, unfair and ungodly. Abortion is the unchoice! Abortion is child sacrifice and if it continues it will be America’s undoing!
