House destroyed by fire

A house located in the 100 block of Berry Hill Road in the Stoney Creek section of Carter County was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday evening.
According to Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department Captain Benny Lyons, when the fire department arrived on the scene the home was fully involved.
Lyons said that fire trucks couldn’t reach the home because of the conditions the driveway was in so firemen had to lay a 600-foot line to be able to get water on the fire.
There was no one injured but Lyons said that a few pets perished in the fire.
