Lora Louise Hatley Bowman, 65, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was born July 28, 1956.
Lora was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and was a homemaker. She loved being with her grandchildren, fishing and picnicking. She was a member of Roan Street Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cody Bowman; her father, Joseph Jack Hatley; and three brothers, Larry Mack Hatley, Clifford “Bo” Hatley and Jeffrey Joseph Hatley.
Survivors include her daughter, Brittany Brooks Bowman; two grandchildren, Jayden Anthony William Stout and Sarah Marie Brooks Stout; her mother, Margaret Louise White Hatley; and five brothers, Rev. Mark (Geri) Hatley, Terry J. Hatley, Jerry A. Hatley, John T. Hatley and Gary Wayne (Judy) Hatley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jody Bewley and Pastor Ken Bewley officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 3, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of the ICU 2600 Wing, Johnson City Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
