T.A. Dugger hosts all-comers event to celebrate eighth-grade night in track and field

It was a busy evening for middle school track and field athletes who gathered at LaPorte Track at Elizabethton High School for the T.A. Dugger All-Comers meet.
Many fans lined the bank around the track and the infield to get a glimpse of their performers during the competition.
In field events, Liahna Nave finished second in the shot put with a heave of 25′ 8.5 inches on her fourth and final attempt. Teammate Savannah Burrow finished in fourth with a toss of 23’10”.
Nave turned around and took first place in girl’s discus with a throw of 88’6″. The closest competitor was John Sevier’s Belinda Sancha Sotelo with a throw of 67’7″.
Jr. Lady Cyclone Camdyn Garland nabbed third place in the girl’s long jump with a leap of 13′ 7″. Ayden Williams of TAD took third in the boy’s long jump as his effort of 15’2″ was over a foot longer than the fourth-place finisher.
In the high jump, TAD’s Lily Hardin and Garland finished in the first and second place spots respectively as both had identical 4’10” jumps on the girl’s side.
Chyanne Everette took third for the Jr. Lady Cyclones in the 100 meters while Blake Cox finished in third as well for TAD in the boy’s 100 meters.
In the boy’s 4x200M relay, the boys from T.A. Dugger finished in second place behind Liberty Bell with a time of 1:54:05, just seven seconds behind the Johnson City team.
T.A. Dugger’s girls picked up a third-place finish in the girl’s 4x100M relay race with a time of 59.30 while the boys also captured a third-place finish in the 4x100M with a finishing time of 52.95.
Arvella Nave took first place for the Jr. Lady Cyclones in the 400 meter girl’s race. Nave backed that win up with another in the Girl’s 800M event in a time of 2:37:53.
In the boy’s 4x400M relay, TAD cracked the top three with a time of 4:35.45.
As far as team results, the Jr. Cyclone boys finished third with 60 points behind first-place Liberty Bell (194) and second-place Tennessee High (82).
On the girl’s side, the Jr. Lady Cyclones finished in second place with 111 points, only 26 points behind first-place Liberty Bell. John Sevier finished in third place with 95 points.
