The Americano Steak House in Roan Mountain raised over $1,000 in a fundraiser this past Tuesday for the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter. The restaurant donated 20 percent of its sales that evening to directly benefit the shelter.
Guests also were able to make cash donations and bring cat and dog food as well as new, wrapped cleaning supplies, cat liter, blankets and toys.
“The event was a huge success,” said co-owner Troy Boane. “The community came out in huge support of the shelter. We are thrilled to be an active participant within our area and we appreciate the support this evening. At the end of the night we had calculated just over $1,048.”
“We are grateful to Americano and the awareness they helped bring to the shelter this evening. The turnout was amazing,” said Shannon Posada, director of Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter.
Donations can still be made and sent to the animal shelter at 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643 Re: Americano Steak House Benefit.
