Local high school students compete in the State Leadership and Skills Conference in Chattanooga

Members of Unaka High School’s and Happy Valley High School’s SkillsUSA teams recently competed in the State Leadership and Skills Conference held in Chattanooga on April 10-13.

Unaka High students receiving awards included: Jocelyn Jarnigan, Gold, Welding Sculpture; Matthew Mcneish, Gold, Collision Damage Appraisal; and Gracie Sims, Bronze, Collision Repair Technology. Unaka High School students are led by Instructor, Scotty Johnson.

Happy Valley High School students receiving awards included: Natalie Presnell-Gold/State Champion Nurse Assisting; Haley Miller-Silver/Reserve Champion, Basic Health Care; Kanye Fair-Silver/Reserve Champion, First Aid/CPR; Malachi Clark-Silver/Reserve Champion Team, Mechatronics; and Hayden Lewis, Silver/Reserve Champion Team, Mechatronics.
The Health Science students are led by Instructor, Kayla Lyons, and Construction students are led by instructor, James Monroe.
