Sidney Lee Smith, 71, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Sidney was caring, the type of man to give you the shirt off of his back and people could rely and depend on him. His family meant the world to him. He was a Chevy man, loved working on his old truck, riding his motorcycle, watching Western shows and films and attending car shows.
Sidney retired from QEP after 41 years, where he was one of the oldest employees. Sidney also loved his work family and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Smith and Juanita (Wiseman) Smith, and wife, Barbra (Whitehead) Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include daughter, Nikki Ward and husband Jed; granddaughter, Skylar Ward; special cousin, Jimmy Wiseman (Jo); and sisters-in-law, Donna Whitehead and Kathy Collins. Several friends, work family and extended family also survive.
A visitation to honor the life of Sidney Lee Smith will be conducted from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tenn.
A graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend are asked to arrive at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. to travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and Home Health staff for their care for Sidney Lee Smith.
