Whitfield moved to the South about five years ago from Colorado. “The fact of the matter is I chose Wetumpka for many of the same reasons that HGTV did,” said Whitfield. “Wetumpka was the site for the number one show on TV last year – Hometown Takeover. I got to be a part of all of that. I got to be a part of the production team, they redid the Big Fish House, and they helped Wetumpka’s revitalization process. It has been absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to share the story with those attending.”

She and her husband, Wade, own the iconic Big Fish House where Tim Burton filmed “Big Fish” 16 years ago.

“It has been a journey getting to the south and finding my way, being a part of a team here that love this place, and wanted to see our community come back to life. The things that I realize the most is we are in charge of that. We can make the decisions to create a new future not only for ourselves but for our entire community.”
