The Elizabethton Lady Cyclones took to the field in Bluff City looking to earn another shot at a regional berth and possibly a home sectional but first things first.

In the opening game of the 2022 District 1 Class AAA softball tournament being played at Sullivan East, the Lady Cyclones gave their pitching staff all the runs they needed as Elizabethton took a 2-0 win over the Volunteer Lady Falcons.

Madisun Pritchard and Mollie Johnson combined on a no-hitter for Coach Ken Hardin’s Lady Cyclones. The game wasn’t a walk in the park as the Lady Cyclones still had to manage to overcome a very good Volunteer pitcher in Abby Fisher who struck out 12 Elizabethton batters and walked none.

Pritchard sruck out six and walked none in six and two-thirds of an inning.
