Senator Crowe, Representative Holsclaw announce TN Arts Commission grants

NASHVILLE — State Senator Rusty Crowe (R-Johnson City) and Representative John Holsclaw (R-Elizabethton) announced Thursday, June 16, four grants totaling $110,460 from the Tennessee Arts Commission for Fiscal Year 2023 (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023). This is the first in a series of grants that will be made throughout FY2023. The grants are as follows:

• $7,700 for Elizabethton Arts and Cultural Alliance in Carter County

• $9,450 for Friends of Rocky Fork in Unicoi County

• $65,260 for Friends of Bonnie Kate Inc. in Carter County

• $28,050 for the town of Unicoi

“I am pleased to announce these grants supporting the arts,” said Crowe. “This investment will help cultivate the arts, which benefits all of us through quality of life, economic development, tourism, and providing a balanced education for our children.”

Pope, Executive Director for the Tennessee Arts Commission. “The arts are a vital tool for attraction and retention of businesses, and help build stronger communities by enhancing the distinctive character of Tennessee places.”
