Sandra Combs Groepel, 74, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of Cecil and Elaine Combs.
Sandy was in the military, stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C., and Fort Ord, Calif. After returning from the Army she worked at Johnson City Hospital. Sandra was a member of New Liberty Freewill Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, Wayne Groepel; sister, Ann Fortner; three brothers, Terry, Tommy and Jimmy; and two special nephews, Dwayne Fortner and Keith Fortner.
It was Sandy’s request to be cremated and to be put to rest at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Friends may call or visit the home of Sandra Groepel at 143 Midway Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643 if desired. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Keith Cook for the excellent care that he gave her for the past two years that she suffered. God Bless you Dr. Cook.
