On Monday evening, July 11, local kids got a chance to show off their skills with Major League Baseball and the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County’s, Hit, Pitch, and Run event. The official MLB skills competition is for youth ages 5 to 14 years of age. The event took place at Northeast Community Credit Union Ballpark in Elizabethton. Players advance through three levels of competition, local tryouts, team championships, and the finals. Winners are determined by their score in all three events, pitching, hitting, and running. The child with the highest cumulative score receives a $100 cash prize from Citizens Bank. Winners are to be announced this week.
