Elizabethton Chick-fil-A customers have no doubt noticed major construction at the local store located at 753 West Elk Ave. According to Tommy Tipton, operator, big improvements for the drive-through experience will be the result. A large canopy, complete with heat and fans, will be added to help business flow and provide a “more enjoyable experience for everybody, especially our employees,” Tipton said.
According to Tipton, the dining room will be closed through the end of this week, but the drive-through will remain open. Starting on July 18 through the 25th, the dining room will be open and the drive-through will be closed. Guests can place mobile orders and come inside to pick up to-go orders. Normal operations — with both dining and drive-through access —  will resume on July 25.
After the construction of the parking lot is done, Tipton says it will be another month before everything is finished, with a completion date scheduled for the first week of September.
