Tree falls on car trapping occupants

A falling tree trapped three people inside a car on Tuesday afternoon.
A small gray SUV was traveling west on Minton Hollow Road when a tree at the intersection of Cricket Lane fell on the car, trapping the occupants.
Watauga Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident, which closed both lanes of traffic.
The three occupants of the vehicle were unharmed in the incident.
Carter County Sheriffs Department and Carter County Rescue Squad assisted on the call.
