Schedule of activities at the Elizabethton Senior Center for the week of August 8-12:
The billiard room and fitness room are open and no appointments necessary.
Monday: Just Keep Movin’ — Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, 9-10 a.m.; Lunch — Oven Fried Chicken, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga, 12:15-1:15 p.m., with Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3; Gentle-flow Yoga, 1:30-2:30 p.m., with Instructor, Carrie Maggard, $3.
Tuesday: Fired Up Ceramics, 10 a.m. Fired Up Ceramics will be at the Center to facilitate pottery creation! Price includes supplies and firing up pottery, cost of $10; Lunch — Spaghetti/Meat Sauce, 11 a.m.; Line Dancing, 12-1 p.m., with Instructor, Sharon Pilk.
Wednesday: Just Keep Movin’ — Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, 9-10 a.m.; We’ll Cross That Bridge, 10 a.m. Local author, Nancy Ensor, will be here to talk about her book, “We’ll Cross That Bridge,” a book detailing the local stories of bridges and roads named after folks here in Carter County; Lunch — BBQ Chicken, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga, 12:15-1:15 p.m., with Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3; Gentle-flow Yoga, 1:30-2:30 p.m., with Instructor, Carrie Maggard, $3.
Thursday: Showing of “Alive Inside,” 10 a.m. Join us for an uplifting cinematic exploration of music’s ability to combat memory loss in people living with dementia. If you are a caregiver of someone with Alzheimer’s, please attend; Lunch — Tuna Salad, 11 a.m.
Friday: CLOSED FOR STAFF MEETING.
REMINDER: Street signs with reflective numbers are still available at the Center for a cost of $5. These are provided at this discount price through our SALT Council. Make sure you can be located in case of an emergency.
