Lady Pioneers take 3-1 victory over Lady Cyclones

As volleyball season rolls toward conference tournament time, the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones were looking to pick up some momentum as they played host to the Crockett Lady Pioneers inside John Treadway Gym.
Falling behind 2-0, including a lengthy second set battle that ended in Crockett’s favor 33-31, the Lady Cyclones responded to take the third set before falling 3-1 to their visitors – 20-25, 31-33, 25-21, and 12-25.
Bailee VanHuss led the way defensively for the Lady Cyclones with 20 defensive digs. Gracie Kirsch and Jayci Bowers also reached double digits in digs finishing with 13 and 11 respectively.
Kirsch added ten kills while Bowers added two. Krislynn Elliott worked the net for nine kills while Ainsley Wampler and Karie Merritt finished with five apiece. Zoe Proffitt collected one.
Offensively, Bowers had 28 assists in the contest with VanHuss finishing with two.
The Lady Cyclones (12-18-0) will be playing in the conference tournament beginning next week at Unicoi County.
