Local JROTC program receives donation from American Legion

The Elizabethton High School Navy JROTC junior shooting sport program visited the post on their monthly meeting on October 3 to receive a donation from the American Legion. The Legion’s shooting team has partnered with the ROTC in providing an indoor range for the students. Any child under the age of 18 can join the Legion team. Boys and girls will be taught many valuable lessons on gun safety and techniques. All instructors are required to do background checks annually and take a child safety test. Anyone interested in letting their children have fun and compete while learning can get in touch with Commander Greene at 423-895-3819. Any adult that would like to teach children gun safety and want to be a part of this program is welcome to join in.
