Johnson City Police Beats

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7:19 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested April Seiber, Church Hill, and charged her with multiple offenses related to theft of property and narcotics.

The arrest followed an investigation into a suspicious vehicle at Days Inn, 2412 N. Roan St. During the investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Kingsport. Officers also located a large amount of narcotics inside the vehicle, including approximately 300 grams of methamphetamine, 86 grams of heroin and 30 grams of marijuana. A large amount of currency and drug paraphernalia was also discovered.

Seiber was ultimately charged with theft of property (over $1,000), methamphetamine possession, and manufacture/delivery/sale of a controlled substance (heroin).

She was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and is currently being held on a $20,000 bond.  Arraignment was on Nov. 3 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On Friday, Nov. 4, at approximately 2 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested a male juvenile, charging him with possession of a weapon on school property. School administration was advised that a male student was in possession of a knife at the school. The School Resource Officer was contacted. The student was searched and the knife was located. The juvenile was arrested via citation and released into the custody of his parent. The juvenile has a preliminary hearing set for Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. in Johnson City Juvenile Court.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Ginger Bradley, Johnson City, and charged her with manufacture/delivery/sell controlled substance, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., officers responded to 925 Hamilton Pl (Academy Sports) in reference to two people shoplifting. During the investigation, officers discovered that Bradley could not stand on her own, had slurred speech, and could not answer the officer’s questions. She was also in possession of prescription pills and a needle. The male with Bradley was also charged with simple possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia and released on a misdemeanor citation.

Bradley was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. Arraignment was on Nov. 7 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Eric Young, Johnson City, and charged him with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, possession of methamphetamine, vandalism, resisting arrest, and assault on a First Responder.

At 1:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to an address in the 2100 block of E. Unaka Ave., regarding an altercation between neighbors. Upon arrival, officers collected a detailed account from the victim who stated she was confronted by Young in the family’s garage where she was working. The victim stated Young had busted the windshield out of the family vehicle with a tire iron before entering the residence. Upon entry of the garage, Young raised the tire iron above his head, threatening the victim before striking her with his hand. When officers attempted to speak to the suspect, he became violent with officers. Officers were able to detain the suspect and he was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and held in lieu of an $80,000 bond. Arraignment was on Nov. 9 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Christopher Cody, Johnson City, and charged him with burglary of motor vehicle, three counts of credit card fraud, and possession of stolen property.

At 6:05 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Gray St. in reference to a truck being broken into. The caller advised the only item taken was her husband’s wallet which contained a number of credit cards, debit cards, and identification documents. Officers later received a call in reference to a fight in progress at a nearby pharmacy. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim of the auto burglary had located Cody actively using one of his bank cards. Cody was placed under arrest and during a subsequent search, officers located two more bank cards belonging to the victim. The rest of the stolen property was located in the back seat of Cody’s personal vehicle.

Cody was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. An arraignment is today in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Raekwon Grimes, Johnson City, and charged him with convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

At approximately 10:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Grimes was a passenger. After detecting an odor of marijuana in the vehicle, officers searched the vehicle. Officers discovered a loaded handgun under the seat in which Grimes was sitting. A criminal history search of Grimes revealed that he is a convicted felon. Grimes admitted ownership of the handgun.

Grimes was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. n arraignment is today in Washington County General Sessions Court.
