‘Shop with a Cop’ seeks sponsors

The Elizabethton Police Department and Carter County Sheriff’s Office are joining forces and participating in the “Shop with a Cop” program and are asking for the public’s help with the program.
More than 60 children and their families will take part in the event, which includes a shopping spree at the Elizabethton Walmart. Participating children have been selected through the local school systems.
This year, thanks to the assistance of the Elizabethton High School and Little Caesars, the evening begins with a pizza party at the Elizabethton High School with the participating children and officers. After the meal, the participants will travel by police escort to Walmart, where they will shop together and buy gifts for the child with a gift card supplied by sponsors.
Organizers seek to provide 60 local children in need with gifts and a food box for their families. Anyone willing to help with sponsorship or donations can email or call:
