CCOA students create 2D models of the solar system

On Thursday, Nov. 17, Carter County Online Academy (CCOA) students from Mr. Colbaugh’s class attended a project based learning experience at the CCOA office. CCOA students attend classes virtually, so this in-person learning experience provided a great opportunity for students to work cooperatively with hands-on activities. Students watched an educational video on the solar system, created a 2D model of the solar system, presented their model to CCOA staff, discussed the differences between the planets, were introduced to coding skills while working with Sphero mini robots, and watched a movie based on the novel they recently completed.
