Assistance and Resource Ministries, Inc. (ARM) has received $1,500 from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed Carter County residents in their time of need. ARM will use this generous gift to provide food for its clients for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Faye Ingram, Director of ARM, expressed her appreciation and stated that “financial support from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, will allow ARM to continue its mission of feeding those who face food insecurity during this holiday season. We are so thankful for this help.”
Since 1991, ARM has been providing food and clothing to adults and children in Carter County who are at or below the federal poverty level.
It also serves as a referral source so that the needy can access other community resources and provides food, clothing and essential household items to those Carter County residents who are in dire need due to a natural catastrophe such as fire or flood. ARM is blessed to have support from foundations such as the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation as well as from Second Harvest, United Way, individuals, businesses, government entities and many area churches.
