Woman charged with introduction of contraband into a penal facility

JONESBOROUGH — Kimberly Smith, 51, Johnson City, was charged with introduction of contraband into a penal facility on jan. 2.
Upon booking Smith into the Washington County Detention Center the evening of Dec. 2 for bond revocation and failure to appear, deputies discovered four small bags containing a crystal-like substance appearing to be methamphetamine. The recovered bags were sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations lab for testing.
Her bond is set at $15,000 and Smith appeared in Sessions Court on Jan. 3.
