JONESBOROUGH — Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon in the 200 block of Furnace Road, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Department.

According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, a suspect is in custody and the victim was transported by emergency medical services to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
