Little Milligan, Valley Forge, Hunter and Central cheer teams win cheerleading competition

Carter County Youth Basketball League hosted its annual cheerleading competition on Saturday in front of a packed house at Unaka High School. Cheerleaders from the following youth clubs: Little Milligan, Unaka, Central, Valley Forge, Bulldogs, Hunter and Keenburg participated in this annual event. In Division 1 Jr. Cadet, the Little Milligan Buffaloes won first place, followed by Valley Forge, second; Bulldogs, third and Keenburg, fourth. Valley Forge would take first place in Division 2 Jr. Cadet, then Hunter, second and Central, third.
In Cadet Division 1, Hunter would take first place, followed by Little Milligan, second; Valley Forge, third and Bulldogs, fourth. Cadet Division 2 would see Central take first place honors, followed by Keenburg, second and Unaka, third. Central Cadet would also take home the Spirit Award and Hunter would take home the Sportsman Award.
Jr. Cadet cheerleaders were judged on two cheers, while the Cadet Cheerleaders were judged on two cheers and a dance. Winners were announced after the competition. Star Photographer Tyler Scalf was present atĀ Unaka High School to share a picture of the teams with Star readers.
