Maxine Jones Holden, 85, Elizabethton, passed away on February 3, 2023, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She was born in Avery County, N.C., to the late Rondia and Retha Cook Jones.
Maxine retired from Baxter Lab. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing and flowers. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Elk Park, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Holden, and four sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shelia Cook, Elizabethton; son, Paul (Barbara) Glen Holden, Spruce Pine, N.C.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Glenda Winters, Brenda Goforth, Kathy Stout and Gail Ruppard.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, February 24, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Mr. George Heaton officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
