Lester C. Dugger walked through the gates of Paradise February 24, 2023. He fought the good fight, and is home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L J “Bob” Dugger and Shirley Potter Dugger; a brother, Bobby Dugger; and two sisters, Jean Benfield and Lisa Johnson.
Left to remember him is his wife of 45 years, Julie Dugger; three sons, Derek of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Jeremiah (Lyndsey) of Johnson City, Tenn., and Luke (Jordan) of Elizabethton, Tenn.; one daughter, BJ Yates of Elizabethton; one sister, Sandy (Ray) Blair of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Jonie (Al) Aragon of Kingsport, Tenn., and Jodie Talley of Kingsport, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, Ava, Hudson (his little buddy), Devan, Jude, Paislee, Oakleigh, Xandria, Xissac, David, Abby and Donnie, in whom the sun rose and set on; and several nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes there will be no services but a celebration. “Laugh, tell stories, eat some good food and no slingin snot” were his words. The celebration will be held Saturday, March 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at his home.
