Two Cloudland High business students, who participated in the “All About Business” event held through TN Career Quest at Northeast State Community College not only were winners, but came home with a big paycheck. They took two of the top prizes.
Andrae Davis won $2,000 for his first place finish in the Business Battle event with his business “Cakes By Andrae!”
Kinley Winters took home $500 for her third place finish with her business, “Winter’s Welding!”
The event brings business professionals from the area to speak to students on success in the business world. It also holds competitions in the “Business Battle” and in “Job Interviewing Excellence.”
Students submitted their business plans for review by the judges, and finalists were invited to the “shark tank” event to pitch their business concept to the judges.
Andrae and Kinley, who are students in Mrs. Holly Houston’s class, were selected to be interviewed by WJHL’s Daytime Tri-Cities TV show with host Amy Lynn.
