Wind causes power outages and downed trees throughout Carter County

On Saturday, the expected West winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph produced power outages and down trees across Carter County. Downed trees were reported on Sabine Hill Road, Westwood Drive in Golf Course Acres that took down power lines, Eastside, Swimming Pool Road, Roan Mountain and Coal Chute Road. The National Weather Service out of Morristown, TN issued the wind advisory that went into effect from 8 AM to 8 PM EDT Saturday.
