The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. at 411 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

• Monday, May 15
A State Certified Security Guard Class for armed security guard will be held at 9 a.m. at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton. State Certified Instructor Ken Potter, who holds multiple certifications under commerce and insurance, will be instructing the class. The class is open to anyone who would like to obtain a license to work as a security officer. Topics will include legal issues, use of force active shooter and multiple other topics as required by the state. Some of the training includes physical exercise and range qualification. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. A State Certified Security Guard Class for chemical spray, handcuffing and taser-stungun will be held at 9 a.m. at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton. Civilians can also train on the spray and taser-stungun to carry for self-defense. State Certified Instructor Ken Potter, who holds multiple certifications under commerce and insurance, will be instructing the classes.
