On April 29, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Kali Pipken, Johnson City, for theft of property over $1,000. Pipken attempted to leave 2915 W. Market St. with 296 unpaid items that were worth $2,327. Pipken was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center. He is currently being held on a $5,000 bond and appeared in court on May 1.

On April 29, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested JaQuan Brown, 21, Johnson City, charging him with reckless endangerment. The arrest of Brown was subsequent to an investigation of a shots fired call that occurred at the Cherry St. parking lot (110 Cherry St.). Brown was found in possession of a handgun after he was followed by an eyewitness leaving the scene of the shooting. There were no injuries reported at the time of the shooting and it was reported to officers that a fired round may have struck a red sedan that left the scene. Brown was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. His initial court appearance was scheduled for May 1 at the Washington County Justice Center.

On May 2, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Takoda Rogers, Jonesborough, charging him with simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia, criminal simulation, theft from a building, and manufacture/deliver/sell of a controlled substance.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of 160 Lynn Road in reference to a trespassing. Officers arrived and an investigation revealed that Rogers had active arrest warrants. Further investigation revealed that Rogers was in possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.
Rogers was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of an $8,000 bond. Arraignment was May 3 in Washington County Sessions Court.

On May 5, at approximately 3 p.m., a juvenile that resides in Johnson City was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery as a result of an investigation into an incident that occurred on May 3 at approximately 5:15 p.m. It was reported that the juvenile held another juvenile at gunpoint while giving him orders. The juvenile then stole the other’s clothing and his cell phone after striking him in the head with the firearm. The juvenile is currently being held at the Johnson City Juvenile Detention Center.

On May 8, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jason Summerlin, Johnson City. Officers stopped the vehicle Summerlin was driving for running a red light. After a brief investigation, K9 Pico performed a free air sniff of the vehicle where he gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics. During a search of the vehicle, approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine were located in the vehicle, along with unlawful drug paraphernalia. Summerlin was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
Summerlin was transported to the Washington County Detention Center. He is being held on a $10,000 bond and an arraignment was on May 8.

On May 10, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Thamar Smith, Johnson City, for driving on a suspended license, unregistered vehicle, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, unlawful drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm during the commission to commit a dangerous felony, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Smith was the driver during a traffic stop for an unregistered vehicle. It was discovered that Smith’s driver’s license is suspended. During a search, officers located a handgun and an amount of methamphetamine consistent with resale. Smith is currently being held on a $32,000 bond and appeared in court on May 11.
