The City of Elizabethton offices will be closed on Monday, May 29, to observe Memorial Day.
Garbage collection for the week of May 29 through June 2 will be as follows: Monday through Thursday will be collected one day late with Thursday and Friday being collected on Friday.
Also, offices at the Carter County Courthouse will be closed Monday as will be all state and federal offices.
Many businesses will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday, which marks the beginning of the summer season. Among businesses closed Monday will be local financial institutions.
