BRISTOL – Wallace Subaru of Bristol continued its tradition of community support Tuesday with the presentation of a $35,027 check to Crossroads Medical Mission.
TC Baker, general manager of Wallace Subaru of Bristol, presented the check to Cindy Rockett, Crossroads’ executive director, during a midday ceremony at the Bristol dealership.
The funds were raised during Wallace Subaru of Bristol’s annual Subaru Share The Love Campaign. From November 17 to January 3, Subaru of America and Wallace Subaru of Bristol combined to donate $500 to Crossroads Medical Mission for each customer that purchased a new Subaru from Wallace Subaru of Bristol.
“We could not be more pleased with the outcome of this year’s Share The Love event,” said Baker. “We have a responsibility to give back to the community that supports us … and being able to assist a wonderful organization like Crossroads that helps people in need every day is very gratifying.”
Crossroads Medical Mission is a local nonprofit that provides free basic medical services to the underserved in the community. They care for nearly 3,000 individuals each year, providing more than $1.5 million in quality primary medical services at no cost to their patients; and more than 80 percent of its funding comes from local resources.
“We often say, ‘at Crossroads Medical Mission, no one stands alone.’ The amazing support of Wallace Subaru of Bristol proves that beyond our wildest dreams,” said Rockett. “We depend heavily on the people in our community to help us. Partners like Wallace Subaru and Subaru Motors America make it possible for our network of volunteer health care professionals to serve individuals in need of assistance.”
The mission of Crossroads Medical Mission is to deliver quality preventative care via a well-equipped mobile unit to people in need throughout the Mountain Empire regardless of race, creed, color, sex, religious affiliation, or ability to pay.
In 2022 Crossroads Medical Mission provided 1,768 patient visits while seeing 689 individual patients. They scheduled 204 clinics and provided $739,301 in medications. Ninety-eight percent of the patients seen were uninsured or underinsured.
