A ceremony to honor the fallen will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the War Memorial in downtown Elizabethton.
The ceremony will open with the changing of the flags by the U.S. Naval National Defense Cadet Corps from Elizabethton High School.
The Rev. Ray Amos will provide the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Loretta Bowers will provide a patriotic medley followed by a Memorial Day reading.
A POW-MIA Remembrance Ceremony will be performed to honor those who were prisoners of war or missing in action.
Also, Carter County servicemen killed in the nation’s wars will be recognized with their names being read.
David Batchelder will conclude the service with the playing of TAPS.
Everyone is invited to attend.
