The Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce hosted a joint ribbon cutting with Main Street Elizabethton on Friday, June 2, at 10 a.m. to celebrate the opening of The Commission, a wedding and event venue. Located at 524 E. Elk Ave., The Commission offers an eclectic industrial downtown venue perfect for small to medium gatherings such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate events.

“I am so excited to bring weddings to such a beautiful area like downtown Elizabethton! I have been in the wedding industry for about seven years, and can’t wait to offer a low stress wedding planning experience for all of my wonderful couples,” said owner Jessica Brewster.

“We love seeing spaces being transformed and new ideas come to life! The Commission is a beautiful location for your next event. This will be the perfect place to gather for any special occasion and make memories for a lifetime. We are excited to see Jessica open her doors in downtown Elizabethton,” said Chamber Executive Director Joy McCray.

“We are so excited to have The Commission in our downtown community! They are going to be such a great asset by adding eclectic venue space to the district.
