Telford man arrested after assaulting victim with metal pipe

JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies charged Thomas W. Honeycutt, 52, of Telford, with Aggravated Assault after an incident late in the evening of June 23.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, Deputies responded to an Aggravated Assault in the 200 block of Gray Station Road. A witness and the victim stated that Honeycutt struck the victim with a metal pipe during a verbal altercation outside of the residence. As the victim was lying on the ground, Honeycutt was observed choking the victim.
Honeycutt fled the scene prior to WCSO’s arrival. Deputies and K9 Rico tracked him through a field behind the location and took him into custody. Honeycutt was transported to the Washington County Detention Center without incident.
While booking Honeycutt into WCDC, it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation. With that additional charge, his bond now sits at $15,250. Honeycutt will appear in court at 1:30 p.m., June 26.
