The Carter County Democratic Women’s Group will learn about Red Legacy and the services they provide for the recovery of women caught in addiction at their February meeting.
The group will meet Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. at the Black Olive and will explore ways they can help and support Red Legacy.
Founded in 2012 by Angelee Murray, the non-profit is funded by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services in eight Upper East Tennessee counties. Many volunteers assist in the recovery and sobriety process by providing programs, essentials and individual need-based workers, welcoming those in need when they are ready and seeking to make them feel at home.
The meeting spaces are welcoming and comforting for those who attend, letting them know that they are people, just like everyone else. The organization provides necessities as well as other needs for the new and continuous members.
Members who wish to order a meal are asked to come early to the meeting.
Janet Hyder is president of the Carter County group.
