FROM STAFF REPORTS
JOHNSON CITY – Wallace Subaru of Johnson City, in collaboration with Subaru of America, Inc. through its Subaru Loves to Help program, and Operation Warm, recently delivered over $12,500 worth of new warm coats, shoes, and socks to Youth Villages of Johnson City earlier this week.
The donation of warm clothing is expected to benefit approximately 250 children in the region served by Youth Villages of Johnson City.
Travis Manual, the new car general sales manager for Wallace Subaru of Johnson City, expressed his sentiments regarding the initiative, stating, “It’s hard to imagine there are kids in our community without shoes that fit, warm socks, and a good, warm winter coat. Hopefully today, with help from our partners, we will make life a little warmer, a little better for many of these children.”
Youth Villages is a private, nonprofit national organization dedicated to prioritizing children’s welfare and providing assistance to children with emotional and behavioral problems. The organization extends direct support to thousands of children and families annually across the country.
The Johnson City location of Youth Villages is one of four sites situated in Tennessee, typically serving over 450 children in central and northeast Tennessee each year.
Operation Warm, a national nonprofit organization, focuses on providing warmth, confidence, and hope through basic need programs that connect underserved children to essential community resources. Over the past 25 years, the organization has served more than 5,000,000 children nationwide.
