The Jr. Cyclone Football Program of the WJAL league enjoyed an action-packed Jr. Cyclone Football Camp on Friday night at EHS Citizens Bank Stadium. Hosted by Head Coach Shawn Witten, along with players and staff, the camp provided an exciting experience for young athletes.
Elizabethton Star reader Ciara Laws captured thrilling moments from the camp and the subsequent Meet the Cyclones event. The camp welcomed all flag and tackle kids currently playing in the Jr. Cyclone Football Program, offering them a unique opportunity to learn and interact with their role models.
Following the camp, the Meet the Cyclones event began at 7:45 p.m. Friday’s festivities featured introductions of players and cheerleaders from the Jr. Cyclone youth league, middle school, and high school teams. Each player proudly walked out with their corresponding number, showcasing the camaraderie and spirit of the Cyclone community.
Notably, several brother combinations were playing for T.A. Dugger Middle School and Elizabethton High School, highlighting the strong family ties within the teams. Cheerleaders from both teams, along with the mascots, were also introduced, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
The event underscored the unity and enthusiasm within the Jr. Cyclone Football Program, bringing together players, families, and the community for a night of football and fun.
