Kingsport and the surrounding community will benefit from increased accessibility to vital services such as treatments for wound care, complex infections, and infectious diseases such as hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS.

ETSU Health celebrated the opening of a new infectious diseases clinic with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday. ETSU Health Infectious Diseases – Kingsport is located at 105 West Park Drive, Suite 2A.

Kingsport Mayor Pat Shull spoke to the value of such specialized services and expressed his appreciation for ETSU Health’s investment into Kingsport. The new clinic represents the third Kingsport location for ETSU Health, alongside Family Medicine and Internal Medicine.

“The opening of an infectious diseases clinic in Kingsport represents an investment into the health and wellbeing of the region that is reflective of our organization’s tradition in caring for the community,” said Dr. Bill Block, ETSU’s Vice President for Clinical

Affairs and Dean of the Quillen College of Medicine. “We are proud to provide critical specialty services alongside our primary care clinics. Thanks to our academic approach to medicine, care in our clinics includes a review by expert faculty, resident physicians who are the brightest minds of tomorrow, and such added services as an in-clinic pharmacy.”

Movement of infectious disease services from its former location inside ETSU Health Internal Medicine – Kingsport allows patients increased access to the ETSU Health physicians who provide care at Holston Valley Medical Center. It also allows East Tennessee

State University’s Center of Excellence for HIV/AIDS, which will operate within the new location, to expand their services into Kingsport.
