Carter County Democrats will celebrate their party unity with the annual Potluck & Politics Picnic, Saturday, August 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The gathering will be held in the picnic shelters at Joe Laporte Recreation Area, 1501 West Elk Ave., Elizabethton (next to Sycamore Shoals State Park). The party will provide chicken tenders and beverages and ask attendees to bring side dishes, salads, appetizers, and desserts. 

There will be campaign materials and spokespersons for party candidates Gloria Johnson, Kevin Jenkins, Lori Love, and, of course, presidential and vice presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Those attending can expect a special report from the Chicago Convention, plus door prizes, music, and great conversation.
