Fork Mountain Free Will Baptist Church
Fork Mountain Free Will Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, will have a special speaker Sunday during the 11 a.m. service. Seventeen-year-old Cooper Shanks from Unaka High School will be speaking. Everyone is invited.
Johnson City Free Will Baptist Church
Johnson City Free Will Baptist Church, 1901 King Springs Road, will have homecoming Sunday. Everyone is invited to the service. The pastor is Matthew Guy.
Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church
Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will have Brother Roger Castle from Kingsport preaching at both the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services on Sunday. Pastor Donnie Harris invites the public to attend both services. The church is located at 820 N. Roan St. in Elizabethton.
Southside Free Will Baptist Church
Southside Free Will Baptist Church, Jack Bradley Road, will celebrate homecoming Sunday at the 11 a.m. service. Special singing will be provided by Loretta Bowers. Lunch will be served following the service. Everyone is invited.
First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will have both an online and in-person worship service Sunday at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will present the sermon “From Dogs to Dinner Guests,” based on Matthew 15:21-28. Meditation is Wednesday at 7 p.m., and Adult Forum is Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in Martin Hall or on Zoom. The church is located at 119 West F St.
Zion Baptist Church
Zion Baptist Church will observe homecoming on Sunday, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Special music will be provided by the Sampson Family, with Evangelist Billy Sampson preaching. A covered-dish meal will be served in the fellowship hall following the service. There will be no Sunday School or evening service. Dr. D. Alan King is pastor. The church is located at 1982 Gap Creek Road.
Redeemer Lutheran Church
Redeemer Lutheran Church of Elizabethton will have its annual picnic Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at Rotary Pavilion in Edwards Island Park, across from Tetrick Funeral Home. Redeemer Lutheran Church has faithfully served with Word and sacrament ministry since 1937. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with Bible study at 9:15 a.m. Sunday and 6 p.m. Wednesday. Those attending the picnic are asked to bring a covered dish to share. Mark Kophamer is pastor.
