JOHNSON CITY – The ETSU Martin Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce that Country Music Hall of Famer and five-time Grammy Award-winner Marty Stuart, along with his legendary band, The Fabulous Superlatives, will be performing live on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.

Known for his timeless blend of traditional country, honky-tonk, and rockabilly, Stuart’s music has long been revered as the embodiment of American roots culture, and this performance promises to be an unforgettable night.

“You have to make the music that’s in your heart,” says Marty Stuart, reflecting on his ever-evolving career. Stuart’s latest album, “Altitude,” showcases his continued exploration of cosmic country landscapes, marked by wide-open horizons and a desert-inspired sound. The album picks up where his 2017 release, “Way Out West,” left off, blending raw cinematic production with the influences of Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon, all while staying true to the heart of country music.

“We are beyond excited to host Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives,” said Jennifer Clements, Executive Director of the Martin Center. “This performance is sure to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers alike, offering a unique and powerful celebration of country music’s rich history.”

With a career that spans more than four decades, Stuart has built a legacy like few others. He got his start at just 13 years old, touring with Lester Flatt, and soon found himself collaborating with legends like Johnny Cash. As a solo artist, he’s released over 20 albums, garnered platinum sales, and become a champion of country music’s storied past.

In addition to his musical achievements, Stuart has emerged as one of the foremost archivists of country music, amassing an extraordinary collection of artifacts, from Patsy Cline’s makeup kit to handwritten lyrics from Hank Williams. His upcoming project, the Congress of Country Music, will serve as a cultural center in his hometown of Philadelphia, Mississippi, dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the genre with future generations.
