Linda Faye Richardson Peters, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethton. She was born September 16, 1939 in Carter County, to the late Hughie and Nannie Oliver Richardson.
Linda was a 1958 graduate of Unaka High School. In earlier years, she was employed in the Carter County School System. Linda was an Elizabethton Star Newspaper Carrier for over 50 years. She was a member of the Carter County Crewettes.
Linda loved watching her grandchildren play basketball, going to fudge shows, and going to Myrtle Beach. She was a member of New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.Y. Peters, who passed away November 24, 2007, and a son, Hugh James Peters.
Survivors include her children, Jennifer (Jeff) Hilton and Charles “CY” (Lisa) Peters; a bonus daughter-granddaughter, Alice Peters; also grandchildren, Crystal Peters, Charles (Rachel) Peters, Jeff Peters, Natasha Peters, Rev. Shannon (Jamie) Sims and Ashley Sims; 12 great-grandchildren, Will, Ryan, Bailey, Ella, Nathan, Daniel, Serenity, Bella, Saven, Alexander and twin girls coming in November; one great-great-granddaughter, Ellie June Sexton; her special grandchildren, Paige Grant, Morgan Grant, Shy Grant, Lisa Perry, Tiffany Whitehead, Becky Jarnagin and Hayley Jarnagin; and one brother, Darrell Richardson.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, in the Blevins Cemetery with her grandson, Rev. Shannon Sims, officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blevins Cemetery Fund, 322 Opal Brook Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643 Att: Darlene. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Jonathan Bremer, the staff of Signature Healthcare including five special ones, Donna, Vanessa, Jessica, Michelle and Alex; and also her special friend, Lois.
