Victor “Timmy” Earl Birchfield, 61, of Elizabethton, was tragically taken from his family on June 20, 2024. He was born to the late Earl Birchfield and Burma Perkins Birchfield, who is still living. He was also preceded in death by a younger brother, David Birchfield, and his grandparents.
Victor was an aircraft mechanic for many years, including four years he served in the Army. Victor was a fun loving, adventurous person. He had a big heart and was good to everyone he met. He enjoyed fishing and spending time napping on a rock in the river whenever he could. He loved his family more than anything. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Burma Birchfield, those that are left to cherish his memory are his children, Rachel Hill, Mary Jenkins and husband Travis, David Johnson and wife Carolyn, and Tiffany Cole and husband Kenneth; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Cynthia Shell; two brothers, Dennis Birchfield and Daniel Birchfield; a special friend, Pamela Vanzant; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and many, many friends.
The family would like to thank the entire community for their love and support during this difficult time as well as Victor’s work family at the Elizabethton Airport for their continual support.
The family will have a graveside service on Saturday, September 14, at 11 a.m. in the family cemetery located on Perkins Hollow Road with Bo Perkins officiating. Those that would like to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. For those that prefer memorials in lieu of flowers the family has asked donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Susan B. Coleman Cancer Center. Words of sympathy and support may be shared with the family by visiting our website, www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
