JOHNSON CITY – Wallace Subaru of Johnson City recently partnered with Subaru of America and Adopt A Classroom to present Boones Creek Elementary School a check for $5,000 and more than a dozen Subaru Loves Learning boxes filled with essential school supplies.
Part of the Subaru Loves Learning program, the school supplies will go to several classrooms at Boones Creek Elementary adopted by Wallace Subaru of Johnson City through the Adopt A Classroom program.
According to Adopt A Classroom, millions of students in high-needs schools lack the supplies and learning materials necessary to be successful in the classroom. Ninety-two percent of all classrooms have students whose families cannot afford to purchase any school supplies for their children, often requiring teachers to purchase items using their own money, according to Adopt A Classroom.
The $5,000 will go to additional needs the school may have.
“We believe every student deserves a fair and equal opportunity at a quality education. That’s what the Subaru Loves Learning program is all about,” said TC Baker, general sales manager for Wallace Subaru of Johnson City. “All of us at Wallace Subaru of Johnson City are very passionate about this program. Hopefully, our donation today will impact the lives and futures of many students.”
