Carter County Schools announces new Director of Early Childhood Programs

Carter County Schools is pleased to announce an administrative change effective Jan. 6, 2025. Jaclyn Wilson has been named the new Director of Early Childhood Programs, overseeing Head Start and Pre-K programs across the district.
Mrs. Wilson brings more than 20 years of experience with Carter County Schools to her new role. A graduate of East Tennessee State University, she holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education.
Mrs. Wilson began her teaching career at Valley Forge Elementary before spending much of the early years of her career at Unaka Elementary. While at Unaka Elementary, she served as a teacher, RTI coordinator, and Carter Cares After School Site Director. She also held the position of principal for four years.
Additionally, Mrs. Wilson has held administrative roles at Keenburg Elementary, Valley Forge Elementary, and Hampton Elementary. Most recently, she worked in the Curriculum Department, coordinating RTI and tutoring programs for the district.
“I am excited to begin this new chapter and to work with Carter County’s youngest students, their families, and the dedicated Head Start and Pre-K staff,” Mrs. Wilson said.
